How the search works
Media type
The selected format is added to the Google query alongside an open-directory listing filter. G2S2 supports MP3, OGG, WMA, WAV, and FLAC; it does not host or inspect the files it finds.
Search mode
Exact Match puts quotation marks around your search term to narrow results. Loose Match leaves it unquoted for broader results. Exact Match can miss listings that use different punctuation or wording.
Google Search and privacy
Submitting opens a new tab and redirects to Google Search with the generated query. Your search term is sent to G2S2 in the URL, then included in the Google query URL. URLs can remain in browser history and may be recorded by services handling the request, so do not enter personal or confidential information.
Privacy and download safety
- Use search terms that do not reveal personal or confidential information; the query is sent to Google.
- G2S2 narrows search results but does not verify the source, file contents, copyright status, or safety of downloads.
- Check the source and rights information before downloading or reusing music. Avoid running executable files or opening unexpected archives from directory listings.
- Keep your browser and media software up to date, and confirm that search results lead to the expected site before downloading.
